Anti-Doping Code: NOC of Angola No Longer on Non-Compliant List

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has removed the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Angola from its list of signatories non-compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code, with immediate effect. This decision follows a circulatory vote by WADA’s Executive Committee. The NOC of Angola, acting as the National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO), was previously found to be non-compliant due to its failure to implement the 2021 version of the World Anti-Doping Code within its national legal framework.

WADA issued a formal notice of non-compliance to the NOC of Angola earlier this year. This non-compliance status became effective in February after Angola chose not to contest the allegation of non-compliance. However, on June 19, confirmation was received that the necessary legislative changes had been made. As a result, WADA’s Compliance Review Committee (CRC) recommended that Angola’s status be revised, and the Executive Committee agreed to reinstate the NOC.

Currently, two organisations remain on WADA’s non-compliant list: the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) and the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBF).
