The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Bengaluru Zonal Office, issued a provisional attachment order on 25 September 2026 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA), attaching assets worth ₹442.35 crore in the probe against online gaming company Gameskraft.
The investigation stems from multiple FIRs registered in Telangana for cheating under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, a scheduled offence under the PMLA. The latest order brings the total value of proceeds of crime attached, frozen and seized to about ₹2,843 crore.
According to the ED, Gameskraft Technologies and RummyTime Technologies ran online rummy and other real-money games through apps including RummyCulture, RummyPrime, Playship and RummyTime, with around 3 crore users, many in states where such gaming is banned, such as Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The ED alleges platform commissions of 10–15% on user stakes, undisclosed bots deployed against users, about ₹1,035 crore spent on user acquisition, withdrawal levies of 5–10%, and offers pushing users to convert withdrawable balances into non-withdrawable “Game Cash”. The proceeds were allegedly layered through dividends, share buybacks and investments in securities and high-value properties, including through family trusts and associated entities.
