Directors KYC: Contact Details Can Now Be Updated Anytime During FY
The amendments recently notified by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) enable directors to update their mobile number or email address by submitting the e-form DIR-3 KYC at any time during the financial year.
Rule 12A of the Companies (Appointment and Qualification of Directors) Rules, 2014, requires individuals holding a Director Identification Number (DIN) as on 31st March of a financial year to submit the e-form DIR-3 KYC for the said financial year on or before 30th September of the immediate next financial year.
The third proviso to said Rule provides that the personal mobile number or the email address of the individual has to be updated by submitting the e-form DIR-3 KYC only. The Amendment Rules now specify that this must also be submitted “on or before 30th September of the financial year”.
Another proviso has been added to enable directors to update these details again at any time during the financial year by filing said form and making a payment of Rs.500.
The Amendment Rules will come into effect on August 1.
