PSG to Pay Mbappe’s 60 Million Euros Unpaid Salary

A Paris labour court has directed Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to pay Kylian Mbappe €60 million in unpaid salary and bonuses. PSG had withheld three months of Mbappe’s salary, along with an ethics bonus and a signing bonus due under his employment contract. — sums previously recognised as owed by two decisions of the French Professional Football League (LFP) in late 2024. PSG did not present any written agreement evidencing the player’s waiver of these entitlements.

These amounts relate to the three months preceding his departure from the Ligue 1 club, prior to his transfer to Real Madrid on a free transfer. Mbappe’s legal team initially sought a much larger award, including additional claims for alleged mistreatment and the reclassification of his fixed-term contract as permanent; however, the court disregarded these claims.

PSG argued that Mbappe acted disloyally by concealing his intention not to renew his contract, thereby preventing the club from securing a transfer fee. The court, however, rejected several of the player’s additional claims, including allegations of concealed work, moral harassment, and breach of the employer’s duty of safety.
