The All India Football Federation (AIFF), overcoming all hurdles regarding broadcasting and production rights, signed a commercial rights agreement with Shrachi Sports Endeavour Private Limited (SSEPL). The I-League clubs, with the AIFF’s consent, initiated discussions in June 2024 about onboarding Sony as their broadcaster. Due to certain differences in the agreement, Sony was not awarded broadcasting rights, and the clubs also expressed their concerns.
Later, on December 2, 2024, AIFF signed a commercial rights agreement with SSEPL to produce and broadcast 338 matches in the 2024-25 season, including the I-League, I-League 2, IWL, Senior National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy, and Senior Women’s National Football Championship for the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy. The rights were granted through a tender floated by AIFF. Also, 110 of the 132 I-League matches will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network.
