Three major national sports bodies have now fixed election dates under the National Sports Governance Act, 2025 and the National Sports Governance (National Sports Bodies) Rules, 2026. The All India Tennis Association (AITA) will vote on 27 November; the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will elect its Executive Council for 2026–2030 on 5 December, with Sanjay Kumar Srivastava as Returning Officer; and the All India Football Federation (AIFF) will hold elections on 20 December, with its current Executive Committee extended until 30 December or until the new committee takes charge, whichever is earlier. Rajeev Sharma, a member of the National Sports Election Panel, is the electoral officer for both AITA and AIFF. The AIFF dates follow a writ petition by Ranjit Bajaj seeking a direction for immediate, time-bound elections, arguing that the AIFF had already adopted an NSGA-compliant constitution and that further deferment was unjustified.
